Once a Captain of the Gotei 13, Sōsuke Aizen was seen as a kind, calm Captain that was a cut above the rest.The reality was, of course, that this was all a mirage. A manipulator, a schemer, a villain.A traitor.This was the truth behind Aizen's actions while he was a member of the Gotei 13. After learning the truth about the Soul King and the Gotei 13's primary job to protect such a useless ruler, Aizen knew something had to change. A real ruler needed to ascend to that throne.So, why shouldn't it be him?Aizen's personality is cold and calculating. Every single possibility is thought of in advance and he has a purpose in every action that he makes. He views his underlings as pawns on a chess board and he'll do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.Even if he has to act in a fashion that he's actually following someone else's orders, in all reality, he'll be making moves by himself to stay 100 steps ahead of those he "follows."Just when you think you have the upper hand on him? That's when he takes the opportunity to strike.

The end of the Thousand Year Blood War. Yhwach defeated, thanks in great part to Aizen helping out Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida in distracting the being that supposedly could see any future and every outcome.So, why did he have to be locked away once again?Aizen had actually played the role of a hero. Hell, he actually helped to save Soul Society and he didn't even make a single attempt to steal the Soul King's throne.Yet, here he was, being locked up in his chair again by the remaining surviving Captains.It made him sick.So, before the Captains had a chance to lock him away, Aizen was able to make one final illusion happen with his remaining powers.With that illusion, Aizen actually made it seem as though they locked him up once more for good...when it all reality, he slipped his way out of the binds that held him and had hidden within the shadows and behind his Reiatsu Concealing Cloak that he had managed to grab amongst the chaos of the War.Once he was hidden away and the Captains seemed satisfied with him "being locked up again," he was free to leave the containment area and move on so he might continue his original mission: To overthrow the Soul Society and take his throne as the Soul King.
After Squad Zero had been revived thanks to Ichibe's abilities and them being tied to the Ōken, it seemed business as usual for the Soul Society. Which is why it was almost too easy for Aizen to put Ōetsu Nimaiya under hypnosis once he had gotten enough strength collected to get him to reforge Aizen's Kyōka Suigetsu.As Aizen held his blade in his hand once again, he could feel an anger behind his Zanpakuto. Before, it had been obedient, yet lonely. But now, all Aizen felt was rage from the blade...primarily towards him. It was to be expected, of course. Aizen knew that his sword being broken by the Hogyoku would have undesirable effects on the spirit within once he was reunited with it.So, after making his exit back to Hueco Mundo, where he would easily assume his throne once again in Las Noches after a failed struggle by Tier, Nelliel, and Grimmjow, Aizen would focus a significant amount of time into gaining his Zanpakuto's trust once more and in getting back his abilities in full thanks to it.
During this time of reconnection, Aizen had made dozens of trips to his subconscious to make sure his Zanpakuto and himself could be on the same page once again. Though it made Kyōka Suigetsu sick to even work with a Shinigami such as Aizen that refused to do good for the world, it had gradually come to terms with what Aizen's goal and agreed to assist him. Though, a requirement of the two of them connecting was that Aizen at least make a conscious effort to appreciate his Kyōka Suigetsu more and to visit the Zanpakuto Spirit in his subconscious every once in a while. Aizen, cautious about thinking anything even close to his sword just being a tool to advance him to his goal, instead would agree to the terms and reassure the Zanpakuto that he would follow through as much as possible moving forward.Though, understandably, the Zanpakuto spirit was fairly cautious of its master still. And rightfully so.
After bonding back fully with his Zanpakuto, it was time for Aizen to test out its abilities once again. What better test subject than one of his former failures, the Espada?Forcing Tier into an open space within Hueco Mundo, the former Queen of Las Noches would of course do her best to attack the immortal Shinigami, but the attacks held no effect on him.A smug grin to his features, Aizen would hold his sword tight in his hand before a single word would be spoken."Bankai."
As Tier watched the Shinigami closely, his entire image faded from her vision. Her head would whip around her, knowing that she at this point was under some form of hypnosis once again, if Aizen's previous Zanpakuto abilities had any sort of influence on the next level of power.Suddenly, Tier's face would become pale before she would let loose a hellish shriek of fear and pain mixed. Aizen, of course, had still been standing in the same place as before as he watched the display before him."Kyōka Suigetsu Kage no Yume. Once under the ability of my hypnosis, all of your worst fears, all of your worst memories, all of your most terrifying thoughts and regrets. They all swirl into one single moment. Most people wouldn't be able to even stay standing after a single second. The fact that you're still standing after enduring several seconds speaks to not only your own prowess but mine as well, Tier Harribel."Walking over to the Espada, Aizen would quickly snap the Arrancar's neck and slice her corpse in every direction possible to ensure her death."Most die from the experience after a full five minutes. Consider your early death a mercy, Tier."The grin on his face never faded. His Zanpakuto back in its rightful place, the overwhelming power of his Bankai back within his grasp, and the abilities gained from his fusion with the Hogyoku still intact. All of that along with his former throne as the ruler of Hueco Mundo?Aizen was one step closer to his final goal...and the Soul Society still probably hadn't fully realized yet.

The rest of his abilities are listed below and may be updated over time:Kyōka Suigetsu Kage no Yume: Aizen's Bankai. The ability of his Bankai relies on the fact on whether or not his opponents have already been hypnotized by his Shikai once already. The frightening ability of his Bankai isn't one so easily broken through as it tortures the victim's minds with their own worst experiences and fears. Even the strongest of opponents with the strongest of mental fortitude haven't lasted longer than 10 minutes. God help the being if they've somehow been Reincarnated as well...those memories and fears are even re-experienced as well. Most of the time, after the Bankai has been activated and the effect starts, Aizen will show his opponent mercy and give them a swift death so they might not have to continue the experience for too long.
WEAPONS/ITEMSZanpakuto: Aizen's Kyōka Suigetsu can always be found by his side. Though they weren't always on the best terms before, Aizen has made a conscious effort to keep a "relationship" with his Zanpakuto so that he wouldn't potentially lose it once again.Reiatsu Concealing Cloak: A cloak created by Urahara which hides the wearer's Reiatsu. Aizen used this cloak to sneak up and attack Isshin Shiba. Aizen states it allows the wearer to blend in with the air around them by incorporating Kidō into the cloak, almost completely concealing them from sight. Typically, Aizen will keep this cloak on his person at all times to make a quick getaway if needed.
